This Pakaoma Garland is the product of a collaboration between two rural communities in the North-Eastern part of Thailand in Kalasin and Amnart Charoen provinces. Sized at 1X2 metres, the Pakaoma is made from hand-dyed yarns and is woven manually by the housewife community of “Baan Darn Nua” in Kalasin. The Pakaoma is then transported to the province of Amnart Charoen where it is folded into the shape of a garland.
Simply by taking out the string, this garland can unfold to become a full-sized Pakaoma, which is known as an all-purpose household cloth.
Enjoy!
