New Generation Community Developers Project

              “ Sarn Palang Peua Bankerd ” ( Joining forces for the Homeland ) is one of a nation-wide project initiated by National Pracharath with the objective of building new generation community developers to help develop their homelands in conjunction with the provincial Pracharath companies in 76 provinces nationwide, for a period of 2 years.

              The New Generation Community Developers selected to join the program will have the opportunity to learn business and community development skills based on social enterprise approaches including the development of leadership and communication skills.Furthermore, they will be exposed to the highest levels of national business networks who support this program,as well as creatingnetworks with new generation community leaders across the country.  Prior to the actual field work, the new generation community developers, will receive comprehensive training and knowledge development on various fields, such as

  1. meetings for the new generation community developers and seek solutions for common issues Knowledge of sufficiency economy including the application of sufficiency economy principles in business operations for communities
  2. Understanding and adjustments in working with government sectors, including the evolution and development thinking principles from changes.
  3. Understanding of natural resources and environment by calibrating ideas of organic farming and product processing.
  4. Conservation of local knowledge and community tourism.
  5. Understanding of business operations and social innovations, including writing and presenting business plans, building the market for the sustainability of social enterprises, funding and financial measurements as well as Business Model Canvas.
  6. Sharing best practices from the private sector and social enterprises both domestically and internationally.

              The National Pracharath also held quarterly workshop meetings for the new generation community developers to update progress and/or issues and consider most appropriate approaches for common on-ground issues in each provincial area, as well as further enhancement of knowledge and developments.

              The  “ Sarn Palang Peua Bankerd ” project was initiated on 15th June 2016 to new generation community developers which 76 candidates has been scrutinously selected  from over 900 applicants and underwent a 4 months the provincial Pracharath companies in their home land.  With the support of the provincial Pracharath companies and the various sectors, the 2 years program provided hands-on experience for the first generation of new community developers to develop their communication and coordination skills as well as cultivating and strengthening the approaches of social enterprise community development.

              The Pracharat Rak Samakki Social Enterprise (Thailand) Co., Ltd. continues the “ Sarn Palang Puea Bankerd ”  2nd generation program in 2017 , which  160 applicants were shortlisted from 643 applicants for the final screening and interview workshop.  The 2nd generation of 76 Community Developers had a 2 months on-the-job training by working side-by-side with their predecessors, to ensure smooth handover and continuance of the community development drive in the area.

              During the last 6 months of the 2 years Sarn Palang project, the Community Business Developers were assigned to develop and implement a project of their own choice, based on the 3 areas of agriculture, product processing or tourism. Winners and runners-up of projects with sustainable business plans and tangible results, segmented under 2 categories, were awarded at the Sarn Palang 2 closing ceremony on Thursday 5th September 2019 as follows:
