Link Youtube: Pictures Collection from the Local Pakaoma Project – a Thai Handicraft 2559-2560
Following the official launch of the “Local Pakaoma – a Thai Handicraft" project on 12th August 2016, various activities has been organized with the goals of enhancing the communities’ knowledge in the development of quality products to meet with customers’ needs as well as building the new generations to carry on the knowledge and wisdom of Pakaoma weaving.
In 2018, a Pakaoma design contest was organized under the theme "Innnovative Distinctiveness" to provide opportunities for students and the general public, less than 25 years old, to express and show their creative designs through hand-woven Pakaoma materials, which the winners and runners-up of each categories are as follows:

For this year, the winner of the Pakaoma design contest, under the theme of “Innovative Distinctiveness”had an opportunity to visit Bunka Fashion College, Japan, which is one of the world's most famous fashion designand fashion institute. In addition, the winner also visited the IFF Magic Japan 2018 fair which exhibited over400 shops of fashionable products from wholesalers and retailers, including selected high-end shops from Japan,Asia and even Romania with the great support from Khun Natthiya Suchinda, Commercial Ambassador in Tokyo.
Another important activity is the search for "Thai Pakaoma Heirs", which is an event organized in an attempt to awaken the pride of the young generation in the community’s Pakaoma production wisdom and turned their interests to the development of the Pakaoma production as an alternative profession which can generate sufficient income without having to abandon the homeland, as well as the opportunity to develop this craftsmanship to be a contemporary product of international level. Currently, 15 “Thai Pakaoma Heirs” has been found to continue the works of their predecessors as follows:

Apart from finding the 15 “Local Pakaoma Heirs” from all over the country, Pracharath Raksamakki Social Enterprise (Thailand) Co., Ltd., also coordinated with the Pakaoma communities in creating varieties of “Torjai” Pakaoma products such as Pakaoma garlands and Pakaoma flower bouquets, which helped to generate over 24 Million Baht to the community as a whole.
